People marching with signs demanding jobs, libraries, and an end to poverty

AFSC co-organized March for Justice, Cleveland, April 2014

In Akron, AFSC educates and organizes residents of Northeast Ohio around issues of economic and political justice, advocating for:

  • The national Move to Amend proposed constitutional amendment to abolish corporate “personhood” and money as speech
  • Sane and humane federal, state, and local budget priorities and tax and monetary policies
  • Creating and nurturing local economic alternatives, like the Akron Time Bank

In this work to change culture, laws, and the U.S. Constitution, AFSC holds forums, workshops, community meetings, mass actions, citizen petition campaigns, and meetings with public officials.
