Internships

Each year, the AFSC welcomes more than 100 fellows, interns, apprentices, and young volunteers across the globe. Like the AFSC, these advocates believe that there is worth in every person and that love can overcome violence and injustice.

The AFSC’s programs develop leaders for social change. They build bridges of understanding and active alliances among young people – and communities – of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

The American Friends Immigrant Services (AFIS), based in Miami, offers year-round internship and volunteer opportunities for those with a passion for human rights, social justice, and equality for the immigrant and refugee community in South Florida.  Individuals seeking diverse and rewarding opportunities may work under one or both of the Miami office's missions:

The NC Immigrant Rights Program offers an exciting opportunity for select students from surrounding colleges and universities in the greater Greensboro area to serve as the NC Immigrant Rights intern.  Students with an interest in human rights, immigrant rights, peace, and social justice issues are encouraged to apply. This is a voluntary part-time position with very flexible scheduling available.

Please contact Crystal Gonzalez for inquiries at cgonzalez@afsc.org

The Intern will work with AFSC staff and volunteers to support Kansas City AFSC peace campaigns and engage youth from after-school, faith, high school and university settings in creative youth peacemaking and social change. Activities will focus on: increasing activism; promoting understanding of militarism and economic injustice; exposing ways corporations and the 1% control U.S. policy and legislation; and deepening advocacy and visions of a just and peaceful world.
