War Moratorium Vigil: War is making US poor

Description: Join Near West Citizens for Peace and Justice for a Peace Vigil to mark the War Moratorium in protest the 11th year of War in Afghanistan and continued Occupation of Iraq. We also stand in remembrance of those who have fallen. Our signs this month will say, "War is making US poor."

2-3 pm at the corner of Harlem and Cermak on the Border of North Riverside and Berwyn.

The War Moratorium is a national movement occurring on the THIRD Friday or Weekend of every month. WM began Friday September 21, 2007 as Iraq Moratorium and will be observed each month until the war ends.
Sign up at the website and join with millions to:

* Wear & distribute black ribbons and armbands
* Buy no gas on that day
* Pressure politicians and the media
* Hold vigils, pickets, rallies, and teach-ins
* Hold special religious services
* Coordinate events in music, art, and culture
* Host film showings, talks, educational events
* Organize student actions: Teach-ins, school closings, etc.
