Two-Part Training to Abolish Inhumane Detention
The second evening of training will be Monday, January 31, 6:30-8:30 pm. Colorado AID, of which AFSC is a founding member, invites you to volunteer to visit and support immigrants who are being detained. Out of our commitment to Abolish an Inhumane Detention system, we provide witness and support in solidarity with detained persons and their communities.
Colorado A.I.D. provides communication between detained subjects and their loved ones, visitation to detainees in local ICE detention facilities, and resources for families of detainees in local ICE detention facilities. If you are interested in becoming a member of Colorado AID and volunteering your time to visit and support immigrants in detention, please rsvp for this training.
It’s helpful if you speak an additional language besides English. However, we have ways for monolingual English speakers to get involved! In order to visit without risk, you need status in the US. For more information and to RSVP please call 303-623-3464 ext 6 (leave a message) or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
