Please consider putting this dramatic teaching, proclamation and action event on your church or organization calendar and your personal calendar as a major part of observing Holy Week.
This ecumenical service is one of a series organized over the last several years by the D.M. Area Ecumenical Committee for Peace. (The first was in November 2002, praying and urging, Don’t attack Iraq.) This is a time to lament the terrible losses of war, pray for peace, and re-commit ourselves to the cause of peace-making.
We're inviting congregations, peace and justice committees, and other organizations to co-sponsor this event. Co-sponsors are asked to publicize, participate and promote the service. You are invited to bring a banner with one of the Biblical themes capturing the call to be peace-makers. Financial contributions of $25.00 or $50.00 to help cover expenses are greatly appreciated, but not required. Checks may be made out to DMARC, with Palm Sunday Service in the memo line. They can be mailed to Elsie Naylor, 5834 Boston Ave., Des Moines, IA 50322. Deadline is March 31st. Please contact us if you would like to join in the planning.
To co-sponsor, sign up, volunteer, or get more information, please contact Chet Guinn at: 282-8054 or Eloise Cranke by email at: ecranke@mchsi.com
