NATO in the 21st Century: Hearing both sides of the debate

Wednesday, April 11, 2012 - 7:00pm

Chicago Public Media in collaboration with Fourth Presbyterian Church is producing an event on April 11 to help Chicagoans better understand NATO and the myriad of viewpoints about their work.

On May 20-21, 2012, leaders from around the world will gather in Chicago for the NATO Summit.  Some view the summit as an opportunity to showcase Chicago to the world, while others object to the work of NATO and are planning large-scale protests.  What are citizens of Chicago to make of all the controversy?  What is the purpose of NATO and why does it's work receive such strong protests?  For answers to these questions and others join Worldview's Jerome McDonnell for an in-depth discussion with Bernard Harcourt, Kathy Kelly, J.D. Bindenagel, and William Schweiker. Visit wbez.org/events for full details.
