International Days of Action to End the Afghanistan War

9 Years: War is not the answer!

On October 7 – 10, peace and justice groups around the world will mark the 9th year of the launch of the Afghanistan war with internationally coordinated local, grassroots, and community events.

Families who lost love ones on September 11 responded with, ”Our grief is not a cry for war!” and “War is not the answer!”

That was true then and even truer now. Now a growing majority believes that war in Afghanistan is and was a mistake and must come to an end.

The only way to end the 9 years of war is a ceasefire, negotiations and the withdrawal of all NATO and US troops.

EndAfghanistanWar.com is a new website launched by US national peace groups, to help organize and publicize local events to voice our opposition, educate our neighbors and continue to pressure our elected officials to end the war.

What can you do?

Download the Organizers Toolkit. National peace groups created a toolkit of new and existing resources to help local activists organize events.

Organize vigils, banner drops, forums, house parties, teach-ins, nonviolent civil disobedience and Congressional call in days, Oct 7-14, or other events to help strengthen the grassroots opposition to the war.

List your event on EndAfghanistanWar.com. Many events are already planned. Share the details o the events on the website.

Circulate and promote the international call to action and EndAfghanistanWar.com to your lists and contacts. Urge groups to take part.
