Facilitator:  David E. Drake, D.O., is a 1983 graduate of DMU.  He is on the advisory board of Iowa PSR (Physicians for Social Responsibility) and serves as vice-chair and commissioner on the Des Moines Human Rights Commission.  In his role as Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at DMU he teaches stress management in the Physician Assistant Program and serves as preceptor for psychiatry rotations for D.O. Students.  He has a private practice in family psychiatry/consultation in Des Moines.

Rev. Bruce (Eido) Espe . Born and raised in north central Iowa. Viet Nam vet. Served 1969-70. Worked for 30 years as R.N. As psych nurse and later with Hospice. Ordained Zen Buddhist Monk in 1998. Currently practice at Ryumonji Zen Monastary in Northeast Iowa and with Des Moines Zen Center

Brian Wrightsman has served two tours with E co 2/24 a Marine Reserve Rifle Company in Des Moines.  His tours in Iraq were September 2004 to May 2005 in areas south of Baghdad and January to August 2008 in the Al-Anbar province.  He is a graduate of Iowa State University, with a Bachelor in Sociology.  Brian is currently enrolled at the University of Iowa working towards his Masters in Social Work. Brian joined the Des Moines Vet Center staff in February 2007. He provides information to returning troops in regards to mental health services in the Des Moines community and helps veterans obtain benefits they are entitled to.
