Duke Power Rate Hikes: Public Hearing

Monday, November 28, 2011 - 10:00am

Occupy Greensboro is planning to attend the next public hearing regarding the proposed Duke Power rate increase. This hearing is scheduled to take place Nov 28th at 1:00pm, NC Utilities Commission Room 2115, 430 North Salisbury Street, Dobbs Building, Raleigh, NC 27603-5918. Occupy Greensboro is opposed to any rate increase due to the negative impact that this would have on the 99%. Occupy Greensboro will be organizing a carpool leaving at 10:00am from Glenwood Coffee and Books. We oppose any rate increase in part because while making 1.075 billion in profit in 2010, Duke Energy paid zero dollars in income taxes.

Residents and business owners unable to attend can participate through written
comments that can be submitted to the public staff of the NC utilities Commission,
Consumer Services Division, 4326 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 37699-4326 or
to consumer.services@psncuc.nc.gov
