If I Could Change the World -2014

The "If I Could Change the World" Spoken Word Project is organized by the KC Program of the American Friends Service Committee  in colloboration with The Writers Place and works to help youth communicate their hopes and visions for a better world.

AFSC interns and spoken word artists will present 90 minute to two hour interactive educational workshops in one or two sessions to school and youth groups to engage youth in developing their ideas about how they would change the world and in creating spoken word pieces which communicate their visions.

Interested youth are invited to attend a follow up Saturday, March 22 revision workshop to further refine and develop their spoken word poetry. After the  revision workshop, youth are invited to participate in a Kick-Off Performances at The Writers Place from 4:00 to 6:00pm on April 5 and then in performances at other area venues.
