Tax Day 2012 is also the Global Day of Action on Military Spending (GDAMS), April 17, 2012.  AFSC will be joining partners in 35 countries around the world and cities all over the US to call for cuts to the military buget and for funding for vital human needs and job creation.

How would you spend your tax dollars?

This is difficult to comprehend while our national unemployment rate is at 10%. Imagine for a second how that one trillion dollars could help put people back to work.

Flyer for April 17 Tax Day Demonstration and Parade, 4:00 to 5:30pm, starting at 12th and Main Streets, KCMO (arrive by 3:30pm).

The action will will focus on three tax dodging corporations who pay no taxes! One of the corporations we will visit is among the top 20 Pentagon Contractor. Action will include street theater, the delivery of overdue tax bills, leafleting, vigiling and more.

AFSC staff, volunteers, and partners marched, chanted and made signs to mark Tax Day.  From Los Angeles to Boston, Indianapolis to Pittsburgh, dozens gathered, and garnered much positive reaction from onlookers.
