Oppose the Closure of PLO Offices in the U.S. and Cuts to U.N. and Palestinian Funding

AFSC, FCNL and QUNO-NY sent the following joint letter to the Senate urging them to vote against three possible amendments to the Senate's defense authorization bill that sought to punish Palestinians and the United Nations on the eve of the vote at the United Nations upgrading Palestine's status at the UN to non-member observer state.

Churches Support Palestinian Rights

AFSC, joining other US based Churches, recently signed a letter sent to the Heads of Christian Churches in Jerusalem reiterating our support for nonviolent Palestinian efforts to realize their rights, particularly their right to self determination.  A copy of the letter may be accessed below. 

Palestinian Statehood at the United Nations: A Resource

The issue of Palestinian Statehood is expected to come before the UN this fall. This is a complex topic, with historical, technical and political dimensions. QUNO New York has put together an informal information resource covering matters relating to the current discussions. This will be periodically updated (latest update 18 August).
