Support Legislation to Get Local Vegetables to Hungry School Kids!

SB 237 and HB 231 have been introduced in the New Mexico state legislature this week through the work of AFSC New Mexico.

The Senate and House bills allocate funding for local school districts in New Mexico to purchase from local farmers so children will have local food in their school lunches. This bill is modeled on the successful 7 year program with the Albuquerque Public Schools in which AFSC trained farmers sell local vegetables to the schools.
