Afghan Images Stir Kansas Citians

Talk with people at a recent reception marking the opening of AFSC’s Windows and Mirrors Exhibit in Kansas City and you hear reactions like powerful and intense, painful and hopeful.

Listen a little more, and you realize that everyone views the Afghanistan war images somewhat differently.

10 Anniversary Report Card on the War in Afghanistan

On October 7th a Report Card On Ten Years Of The U.S. War In Afghanistan was issued in Kansas City.  It evaluates the performance and progress in the longest war in U.S. history and the impact the war has had on the Afghan people, U.S. troops and the U.S. economy.

 The report card grades were delivered to the Kansas City office of Senator Roy Blunt at 911 Main Street, Suite 2224, Kansas City, MO.

The Kansas City area exhibition of Windows and Mirrors: Reflections on the War in Afghanistan is a thoughtprovoling art exhibit on the human cost of the Afghan war including 45 murals from the traveling exhibit plus murals created by students in the KC area.

     On this 10th anniversary of 9/11 we invite you to send your hopes for the future to your elected officials. Print out this document and complete the card below and send it to your elected official (and email a copy to afsckc@afsc.org if you are able).

     Add your personal comment in the space provided and fax or scan and email your card to your U.S. Senators and Congressperson.
