Demonstration - No US Military Intervention in Syria

Thursday, September 5, 2013 - 5:00pm - 6:30pm

While we unequivocally condemn any use of chemical weapons along with continued indiscriminate killing of civilians and other violations of international humanitarian law, military strikes are not the answer.”

U.S. military action will only escalate the fighting, increase the suffering, and delay the necessary diplomatic / political solution, the only thing that can stop the civil war.

Festival Again Raises Visions of Peace

This year’s Visions of Peace at the Crossroads Festival was another rousing success. The Festival took place on June 7th, the first Friday of the month. First Friday is the time for the monthly art walk in The Crossroads District, and attendees of the Festival were a healthy mixture of peace activists and art enthusiasts who just happened upon the event.

AFSC Civic Engagement Project - an invitation

Flyer inviting high school-age youth and school groups to participate in AFSC's Youth Civic Engagement projects in Kansas City.

Groups can learn about U.S. budget priorities and tax policies and create films for the If I Had A Trillion Dollars youth film festival; explore their ideas about how to improve our community and world and create spoken word poetry to perform wiht the "If I Could Change the World" spoken word project; participate in trainings about social change, nonviolent action and activism; and more...
