Tax Day 2012 is also the Global Day of Action on Military Spending (GDAMS), April 17, 2012.  AFSC will be joining partners in 35 countries around the world and cities all over the US to call for cuts to the military buget and for funding for vital human needs and job creation.

Tell Congress They Must Cut Military Spending

Under last year’s deficit deal, military and domestic programs are supposed to be cut equally over the next ten years. Already this agreement would disproportionately affect domestic programs, as the military budget has doubled since 2001, not even including the costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Call Congress Now: Make the Federal Budget Reflect Our Values

As thousands protest the government's skewed priorities in the streets of New York and cities across the country, the twelve legislators on the "super committee" hold immense power over the US federal budget. They are  preparing to make recommendations that could impact us all for many years to come.
