We summarize last week’s activities; announce upcoming events for next week; and comment on how Governor Kasich's proposed income tax cuts would further inequality; the FEC Net Neutrality victory; the 5 most toxic energy corporations and their political influence; the power and influence of financial corporations; and how the rise of resistance against austerity should also include the rise in support for national democratic money creation.

Have you heard about the new growing network of Quakers working together across the country to end mass incarceration?  What started as a small group of Friends meeting during mealtimes at the 2014 Friends General Conference Gathering has burgeoned into a movement of Quakers connecting across the country to see how we can pool our knowledge and resources on shifting our prison system. 

People really want good information on changes in immigration law, according to Jody Mashek, who directs AFSC Iowa's Immigration Legal Services program. Jody recently presented to 160 people at Sacred Heart Church in West Des Moines, Iowa about President Obama's executive orders on extended Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (DAPA).

In this six-minute interview, Sandra Sanchez, director of AFSC Iowa's Immigrants Voice Program, describes the community outreach presentations she's making for the immigrant community in Central Iowa. Sandra's presentations describe the requirements of President Obama's Executive Orders on extended Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (DAPA). Sandra also hosts a weekly radio show on La Reina 1260 AM.
